I had problem with the standard (5.02) version of SqlYog when trying to synchronize tables localhost->ISP.
Not all table data came along to the ISP. This is a VERY serious problem, since I need to be sure that my data gets transfered correctly.


Well, so i tried to download the beta and see if it worked better here.
I entered my login info for "localhost" and tested it, that was OK. But when I actually connect the program just hangs. Nothing to do but shut it down.

MySQL-versions:
Localhost: 4.0.26-nt
ISP: 4.0.26-standard (Using HTTP-tunneling)

By the way... Maybe you should change the text in here to reflect that it's actually Beta 3, cause that's what the installer says: http://www.webyog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1943

The file on the server is a few minutes old only. Probably Ritesh will update the information in the Forums soon!

1) I cannot reproduce the hang.

I tested with various MySQL servers - including two 4.0.26's. I connect to both without problems with HTTP and direct connection as well.


2) Now the sync issue.


Of course it is! But you will have to provide more details. Also please read

Any error messages in the log? Do you sync with a Primary Key?

Where is the log? I searched in the program dir but didn't find anything.

Now i tried to connect with the http tunnel on my localhost, and the program worked. And when i disconnected and connected without tunnel, it also worked.

Although the first time i connected succesfully (with tunnel) it started to build a lot of tag-files. If that has got anything to do with this.

My localhost server had username root with no password, but that shouldnt be a problem either?

So somehow the problem is worked out. Don't know if this helps you in any way? :)

File is called sja.log and is in installation folder. It is created first time you start SJA and should at least read like :"Job started at Wed Mar 15 22:14:52 2006".

Well maybe the building of tag-files could gives the impression of 'hanging' on some systems. Though I believe Ritesh said that this is done in a seperate thread.

I thought you were talking about the DATA SYNC 'powertool'. But I now understand that you use 'copy to other host' (that is not a sync tool in my opinion). This does not involve the SJA and no sja.log is created. There is a sqlyog.err for the SQLyog/Ent).exe instead.

The file sja.log wasn't created. I guess it's created the first time you connect to a server, but that I couldn't do.

No the tag-files didn't hang the system. The first time i used it and connected normally (not http) it just hang, with no message on screen.
When I then reconnected and used http, the tag-files was built.

I still have no sja.log though.

I now connect to my ISP through the BETA (i didnt try this before) and the building of the tag-files is pretty slow and making the program act hung, but it worked out.
I tried to do the database-copy now with the BETA, and I got exactly the same results, the table is empty.

There are some tables in the ISP-database that has nothing to do with the localhost, but that shouldnt matter, should it?

I think our replys were crossing! No you have not because you are not using SJA DATA SYNC but SQLYOG DATA COPY!
