Full Version: German Umlauts With Sql Dump
Webyog Forums > SQLyog > SQLyog BETA Discussions

Hi,

I made a backup from a MySQL 3 server database and restored it under a different name on the same host. I noticed that German umlauts were dropped, e.g. "Jörn" -> "Jrn".

When I open the sql file in UltraEdit it shows me that the file is in Unix format and the umlauts exist. I converted it to Dos format but the problem remains the same.

Is this a problem with SQLyog or with MySQL?

Update:

A co-worker restored the db with SQLyog 5.2 beta 4 and the umlauts are fine with this. Seems to be a bug in v6
