Feels like I'm complaining again, but...

Is it possible for SQL editor windows to automatically detect when a file has been changed? I sometimes forget I have a file open, make a change in another instance and then find the older window again. If I'm being dim I'd continue making changes to that file, save and lose the stuff I made concurrently.

In contrast MSSQL pops up a dialog box saying the file has been changed giving you the option to reload it (or not if you want to keep a copy of the older file).

What kind of file are you referrring to? a SQL file?

Also I do not think that MSSQL (the server) does anything like that. It must be some client that does!

You find similar functionality in cetain text editors like PSPAD for instance. This is no bad request. Actaully we only need to compare the timestamp of the file when it was opened with the current timestamp from filesystem I think.
